Product Description

June 23 to June 28, 2004
Western Trout Fishing at The Motherwell Lodge

The Motherwell is a totally secluded, palatial, private lodge overlooking a spectacular alpine lake in the center of a 6,500-acre native elk ranch. There are three large lakes and numerous ponds for stillwater fishing and 3.5 miles of river. Because these waters are private, the lakes and river contain trophy-sized rainbow, brook, brown and cutthroat trout. World-class cuisine is prepared by an experienced chef, and served by gracious staff.

This six day package includes five nights at the lodge and four and a half days of fishing. The fishing days include one-on-one, or two-on-one guided drift boats on three private mountain lakes or guided wading on over three miles of the Williams Fork of the Yampa River.

In addition to daily guided fishing, there are numerous optional daily activities at the lodge. Both fishing and non-fishing attendees may enjoy:

  • Native wildlife safaris to view elk, mule deer, fox, coyote, hawks, and occasionally golden or bald eagles, or bear.
  • Guided wildflower outings and photo hikes to meadows on the ranch or by arrangement to nearby Trappers Lake, the largest natural alpine lake in Colorado and home of the native cutthroat trout.
  • Guided shoots on the championship sporting clays course.

Guests are asked to make their own travel arrangements. It is most convenient to fly into and out of the Hayden/Steamboat Springs airport. Transportation to and from the airport and the lodge is provided for you. Airport pickup and drop offs are made based on Denver flights. Guests who drive from Denver can be met at the entrance to the Motherwell Ranch.

Six-day package includes five nights at lodge and four and a half days fishing for $1,895.00 per person for each fishing or non-fishing attendee.
